Easy Peasy file in desktop folder does not show in screen desktop

Copied a file from SD card to the desktop folder in EasyPeasy, thinking that it would appear on the screen desktop. It doesn't! Used to be able to do this in Netbook Remix, so what's different?

You need to replace "user" with "your username" on the system.

Kind regards

Oops! Right, using the commend correctly I get (in green print) the name of the file I copied to the Desktop folder. But there is no trace of this visually looking at the Desktop. Ubuntu 10.04 (which I use on another machine) does what I expect, but Easypeasy (which seems to be a clone of Ubuntu Remix) does not. If it can't ne done, OK, but it seems odd.
