Dual booting with Windows XP and Fedora Core 4 on laptop
I am trying to find out who to dual boot with WinXp and FC4. I have checked on a few forums and most of them talk about 2 harddrives and other go on about different OS's but says that it works the same as WinXP and FC4, but i am not going to try and fail because i don't intend to waste my time.
Basically, what i need is to find out how to dual boot WinXP and FC4.
I wanna know EVERYTHING(moehahaha). Like what OS first and what has to be done after the first OS has been loaded, and whatever else might need to be done.
And please don't tell me do google it. I have tried and found nothing
PLEASE HELP ME. My boss is gonna kill me if i dont get it right by the end of this week

it's not very difficult:
1. install windows - leave partition space for fedora
2. install fedora (btw, you should use FC5. FC4 is outdated and possibly no longer even supported)
3. follow the prompts to install the boot loader during install. fc will install grub and should automatically detect windows and add it to the bootloader
that's pretty much it.

Thanks, i am gonna try that as soon as i get the installation disks, from who ever took it. The only problem is that the local Linux lover behind me says:
"See, thats what i told you. Told you so. Shoulda listened to me." and all that.
Like is said, i'll try it asap.
Thanks again

Install Windows XP first leaving blank un-formatted space to install FC4 after your done.
Install FC4 to the blank un-formatted space and follow the installation guide. When at the point where grub is installed it goes to the MBR

He uses it for accessing servers and he prefers that much more than putty(guess its because you can actually use ur numpad in linux). But we needed XP so that we can test our wireless routers, coz no matter how hard we tried, we couldnt get the internal wireless card to work on linux. The other thing is that clients freak out a bit if you rock up at their place and boot up linux. If you get it to work on linux, they say: "It's because you are using a different OS and it can do stuff that windows can." Well thats true, but still, what do they know.
BTW, IT WORKED!!!! YEAH!!!! Thanks guys, now i will live to seen next week.
