A number of folk have got this card going in various RH linuxes - Sounds like you have Red Hat Enterprise Linux (version number please?) with a
2.4.21-4 kernel? (It can be very important that you know the name of the OS you use.) Follow the links - the first one is more detailed.

Yes, you said, but [which] enterprise linux. I know of Red hat Enterprise Linux and SuSE Enterprise Linux.

You can tell by the main menue icon in gnome - if it is a chameleon, then it is SuSE, if a red hat then it is red hat, and so on. Usually it tells you when it boots up and it should be written on the installation CD's. Presumably you also have a web page you go to for Enterprise support (wot you paid for when you paid for enterprise) which also says what sort of linux it is.

Yeah, that won't help (LAN trouble).
However, I think those links were specific to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) - if you have some other kind of enterprise linux, then they probably won't help.

at ipw2100.sourceforge.net there is a kernel module for your wireless developed by intel (I think)

It is designed for 2.6.4+ kernels though, so you will have to either upgrade your kernel or (probably) compile the driver from source with the 2.4 kernel backport patch which is listed on the page.
