I plan on getting a laptop that will use XP SP2. Not sure on brand, most likely will be HP. Does the Slackware 9.1 kernel have any issues with HP laptops?? I have a copy of Amigo and was wondering.
well I run linux on laptops I have an HP N5435 wich runs linux just fine (have suse 9.1 on it now) also HP has linux forums which is awesome I think and they go the extra mile to make sure there products and Linux in general doesnt have any issues.
I also own a Emachine the amd 64bit one and there customer support is horrible to say the least (been in 4 times and I am waiting on a replacement still as of this posting) but you get what you pay for. Emachines suck IMO.
So in short get an HP and you wont have any issues at all on any linux dist.
I have seen many HP portable computers working under many different linux distros. So I don't think there will be a problem with getting it to work under Slackware 9.1 or any other. The main thing about it is one of the latest kernels.
