Disabling beep on PCMCIA and resume-suspend

I am tinkering with a dell latitude C600 with Slackware 10.2. I am planning upon uprading later. My question is regarding startup. When starting up it beeps when initializing the PCMCIA service, whether or not there is a device in the pcmcia slot. The other time it beeps is when coming out of suspend. I believe both times it beeps 3 times. Could be 2.

It is more of an annoyance really, but if I forget about it and plug my headphones in, turn the laptop on, or resume it from suspend mode then I go deaf from the beep. I know it isn't the same beep caused from hitting backspace in the terminal too many times, I already disabled that via editing /etc/inputrc

Any Ideas?
Thanks,
DragonM15
