Question disable pcmcia in interactive boot

I am running a toshiba sattelite 2100cdt with 400mhz k-6 , 54mb ram and 4gb HDD, and I get the linux 9.1 install to run ok, but when it boots up the first time it hangs on the Starting PCMCIA part.. I asked a friend and he said to disable it during the boot using the interactive bootloader, but I dont know how. Would someone give me a step by step instruction on how to do so?

Thanks in advance

linux 9.1.: is that mandrake linux 9.1? If so, go to mandrake control center -> system ->drakxservices and set the pcmcia service so that it won't start at boot.

actually, the above was a very stupid thing for me to say. completely useless advice since you can't finish the boot. Sorry.

Pretty early on in the boot prcess, it will say something like
Press 'I' to enter interactive setup
Press i at this point (you might have to do it several times, it might even help to press it earlier) and the system will ask you if you want to start this or that. Say yes until it asks you whether you want to start pcmcia. Answer no here and then answer yes to the rest.
hope this is more helpful.
