Detecting wireless card on ubuntu
 
Hi,

I have installed ubuntu(10.04 32bit) on Dell vostro 3550 .Its not detecting the wireless card.The lspci command detects the below hardware
#lspci
Network controller: Intel Corporation Device 008a (rev 34)

Any help is highly appreciated .

According the specs, that's a Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 chipset.

This site claims to have a driver:

http://intellinuxwireless.org/

I have no way of testing that.

It seems to be that Ubuntu 10.10 have kernel 2.6.35 and this wireless adapter requires kernel 2.6.36.

A solution could be to update the kernel, or update to Ubuntu 11.04 (latest stable).
