Dell XPS 15 - good choice for Linux?

Thinking of buying av Dell XPS 15 laptop with the i7 cpu. This cpu is supposedly without the integrated graphics that ships with the i3 and i5 alternatives. So this laptop should not do Nvidia Optimus, witch causes problems regarding Linux. So I've been told.

Is there someone having any experience with this laptop and Linux?

Specs on the one I'm thinking of buying:
Intel® Core™ i7 740QM (1.73 Ghz, 6MB, 4C)
15.6 Full HD B+RGLED TL (1920x1080) 1080p
2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® 435M GT
HM 57 express chipset

According to the specs you gave there should be no problems with any recent distro.

I had a lot of trouble on an HP core i7. I think it would have booted to the usb flash but would never boot to the cd.
I assumed it was the sata controller. Can't say if the dell would suffer that fate. Might post that question on the dell forums just to be sure.

I've had one for the best part of a year - works flawlessly. Got the ATI video (no choice at the time), but works fine.
I never go with the Dell wifi - always get the Intel option as they (finally) seem to get their firmware out there better for Linux.
