Dell Studio 1555 fan runs all the time on using Fedora 17

Hi All,

Dell Studio 1555 fan runs all the time on using Fedora 17.
It is causing the Laptop to overheat as well.Below is the graphics card information:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M92 [Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100 Series] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

Also,I am not facing the problem in Windows7.

There may be a lot of reasons why laptop consumes too much power. I do not think your claim that fan is causing overheating is literally correct.

Which kernel and which graphics drivers are you using (radeon or fglrx)? Can you also give the complete lspci output?
