Dell Inspiron 9100 Monitor

Hi.

Just completed installing Fedora Core 3. However, being new to linux, I am not sure what monitor type to choose. I have a Dell Insprion 9100.

Right now, I chose the Dell 1024x786 Laptop Display Panel but only 800x600 fits on the screen correctly. When I choose a larger resolution, the screen displays several desktops, like I have multiple monitors. Any advice for a linux newbie? Thanks. Happy Holidays.
