Dell Inspiron 4150 2.6 kernel .config
I am installing Gentoo Linux on my (now) dual booting Inspiron 4150. I am using genkernel and it is working fine, but I would really like to have a 'personalized' (i.e. non-monolithic) kernel instead. I was hoping that one of you fine linux users might be willing to post a 2.6 kernel .config for me. I know what most of the hardware is on the system, but I don't feel like going through the tedium of tooling around with all available kernel options. So, if there is another 4150 owner out there who could help me I'd appreciate it.
Basic Hardware (Any 4150 should match): P4-m ATI Mobility RADEON 7500C Yenta Compatible PCMCIA USB 3c90x Integrated NIC CD-ROM (Removeable) Floppy (Removeable) Intel i845 Chipset Thanks in advance, pheasand |
There's about 8 here:
http://www.linux-on-laptops.com/dell.html Might want to see if any of them are on 2.6 and hand compile, then mail 'em. If they're going through all the trouble of havng an install page the odds are pretty good that they're willing to reply to an email. However, pop-poo for not compiling your own. You can get the selection down to a lot less then the compiling time... heck I do server menuconfigs in about 2 minutes these days. Cheers, Finegan |
