dell inspiron 1100/mandrake 10 and power/batteries

Hi,

How can I view the battery status button? I think it has something to due w/ acpi but I have no clue how to access it. please let me know what other drivers i need to install to make this work.

also, how do i make the fonts look more 'xp-like'? they seemed jagged w/ aa turned off, but w/ aa turned on, i don't like it w/ my 15" xga screen.

also, which modem driver should i download for dialup?

i have a connexant modem. something w/ the number '480' in it....i don't remember exactly.
