Dell 600m Bluetooth problems

Computer stats:
- Dell Inspiron 600m w/ bluetooth and wifi B/G
- bluetooth iogear mouse
- Gentoo (wm include: gnome, E16, fluxbox)

Problem: Cannot pair mouse with laptop, but after some fiddling it works (put mouse in pairing mode then did a 'hidd --search').

Question: Is there some simple method to get my mouse to pair with my laptop so I turn on the mouse and it auto connects with my laptop? I've read enough posts and sites to go cross-eyed, and I have found many of them to be worthless for my specific needs (they almost always use a M$ bt mouse), but I have managed to get my scroll wheel working.

Anyway, thanks for any help you guys can give me =)

In Ubuntu, it was:

Code:
hidd --connect xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
where the XXs are the MAC address of the mouse. If you need to know the MAC, run
Code:
hcitool --scan

That doesn't always work, plus i want it to auto connect when I turn on the mouse (like winxp does)

I wish I knew more about Gentoo (I'm going to try an install this week though on my new PC). But in Ubuntu there was a file /etc/bluez-utils that you could edit with the MAC of the mouse and turn on HIDD so the mouse would connect whenever it was detected.

Good luck
