Debian squeeze video problem on PowerBook G3 Pismo

I am having an issue with Debian squeeze on my 400 MHz PowerBook G3 Pismo. What happens is when I boot my Pismo it will show the usual yaboot loader, then the usual boot sequence and then when it would normally go to the login screen (I am using the Gnome desktop) it goes to a blank screen. The display is on but there is nothing being shown. If I press Control-alternate-f1 to try to load the terminal it will show green horizontal lines scanning across the screen.
