Debian - Dell Latitude E6410 - "Cannot enumerate device" error on resume from RAM
 

I am running Debian Squeeze with KDE on a Dell Latitude E6410 with nVidia graphics (using the proprietary nVidia drivers) and I am having an issue where sometimes (not all the time) when I bring my machine out of suspend to RAM, I get an error message. I managed to take a photo of this:

The machine just seems to sit there indefinitely and I have to hard reboot to get back in. I initially thought this was something to do with my SD card reader (as I was getting a message on boot saying it was an unknown type and I may experience problems) so I disabled it in the BIOS since I don't use it anyway, but no dice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is REALLY annoying. This seems to be Debian specific since I have used Fedora 13 and 14 previously on this machine and have not encountered this problem.

I'm afraid it might be a hardware failure due to the 'dreaded Nvidia BGA chip'. I have a HP laptop with a Nvidia chipset and had to replace the motherboard. It was giving frequent error messages "unable to enumerate on port 4" message. Finally, it quit working altogether and would not even power up. I replace the motherboard and have not had the 'failure to enumerate' error again.

Like I said, this is the first distro I've had it on. I have no other symptoms except this error when coming out of RAM.
