Custom DSDT for Averatec 3150

I compiled a custom dsdt for my Averatec 3150 laptop
running Mandrake 10 (latest kernel and all updates
current). I tried to install it following the instructions at closely. I checked
that the kernel does have the Gaugusch patch (at least it
has the CONFIG_ACPI_INITRD option enabled). However,
on boot, the custom dsdt in the initrd is not found.

When I just use the dsdt.aml file as my initrd, it is found on
boot but I dont then have the stuff normally in the initrd !

Does anyone have experience with compiling and
installing a custom dsdt into the initrd and can give
me guidance, or can someone point me to a web
page with instuctions specific to Mandrake 10?

thank you.
