Connecting wifi card on PackrBell laptop

Hi,
I tried to access internet with my Laptop (see below) after running Mandriva One Spring 2008 (boot) from the CDRom.
The WiFi card is not recognised and the driver doesn't install.
Laptop: Packard Bell Easynote G1320
Mini PCI Askey CArd WLL3070
Driver (for Win xp) Agere WLan 8225084

In the setting, I see "Unknwon device ab34" ---> agere system (in fact the wifi card).

When trying to install, I got the answer:
- "Use a window driver (with ndiswrapper)"
- "The folder content could not be displayed" ...File not found: file:///media/cdrom

So the driver required for the wifi card Agere cannot be found.
The Mandriva version is the One Spring 2008 with the drivers (quote: "Recommended: contains all drivers and common plugins").

However, I picked up the agere driver from internet and unzipped it in a directory. I got 16 files (with extensions like vxd, cnt, dll, ...) and one INF .
Mandriva tries to catch it ("searching for a wan") but crashes every time I try.
Consequently the system is blocked and I have to reboot.

I don't have found a linux driver on internet or a driver with .inf only (I have found a zipped package containing 16 files).
Using Linux / Mandriva appears to be a nightmare!
Thanks.

Suggestion that you search the forums for info on installing windows wireless driver with ndiswrapper. personally have no experience of doing that.
