Configuring X for LCD Monitors

Okay I have installed Slackware on my new Alienware Laptop, and I logged on as root, and tryed to configure Xfree. The Graphical configuration program cannot be found according to my system, so im using the one through bash promts, xf86config.

I am fine up to the part for vertical and horizontal sync and refresh rates, so I called up Tech Support, and they told me that there is no sync on LCD monitors, and i tried entering 0 and its unaccepted, and i tried 60hz like he said and i got nothing, so now i am at a dead end. Anyone know how to change the X server or bypass this config stage in any way?

Just put any numbers in there that you want like 50-100 and if you it doesn't work or you want to get rid of it then edit the XF86Config file and comment them out.
