Configuring port replicators on a Dell Latitude with Red Hat 9.0

I'm sure this has already been discussed, but I wasn't able to find it in the archives.

Does anyone have information, or a reference to a URL that will guide me through configuring the OS to handle a port replicator? Kudzo doesn't seem to be able to handle it very well if I just let it go through its own setup.

Thanks!

Dell port replicators

I have good news and bad news about the port replicators on the Dell laptops. You can get (as I am sure you have found out with Kudzo) that you can get the network adapter to work but that is about it. I have a Dell Latitude that I use at the office that is a dual boot Win XP and Slackware 8.0, well my slackware 8.0 has been so heavily updated and modified that I guess that it more qualifies as a home built now. Anyway I digress, the specs for the docks have not been released from Dell so only the openly available parts can be supported under Linux. With that said you will always have sound from your laptop, not the dock sound ports (big deal, I normally have the sound turned off anyway. Second the network card will work, as will the comm ports, the mouse and keyboard ports, and prolly the USB ports (although I haven't tested that, sorry)

I found this <a href="www.bay-wolf.com/links.htm>page</a>. It may have some stuff that you can use down near the bottom, as well there is a Dell community Forum there that you might be able to find better answers than the ones that I gave you.
