config settings for monitor Toshiba 1000 s157


Anyone have any settings that will make mepis use the entire screen on a toshiba 1000 s157. I cant seem to find any threads on this topic. I have installed each of the monitors under toshiba and they dont help.

Thanks for any info you can give.

Have you tried just picking generic lcd screen and the size?

yes

If I choose generic monitor then the monitor wont display anything graphical. It just shows the text before the login screen.

However, if I plug in an external monitor and press the monitor switch FNC button then both screens show up, and the latop screen is small. The external montior screen is full size.

I suspect the wrong monitor is selected, but I have no idea which one to select. I am having difficulty locating the LCD model number, and I dont know if it will help even if I do. I also dont want to take the laptop apart.

(I could always put a different operating system on it if anyone can recommend one that will work with it, but it is alot of work [no cd drive] to do so I would like to be sure before I do that.)

If it's an nvidia card I know there's an extra setting for the xorg that enables the built in screen which for some reason gets turned off by normal settings...
