confeguring wireless device in linux


hi ,

i have mandriva , i am tring to confegure the wireless device using ' iwconfig ' but for some reason i get this messege --> ....... no such device eth1 , and if i use ' ifconfig -a ' to see what devices i have it does not show the eth1 ( the wireless device ) what is that supposed to say ??

please help me ,

try

Code:
dmesg | grep wlan0
to make sure the wireless card can be seen.

Btw wireless cards are normally wlan not eth
