compiling the kernel video configuration
i've been trying to get a really sweet kernel put together for my laptop. so far i've been making pretty good progress, i'm using the 2.6.10 from kernel.org. but there's one thing i can't seem to get right and it's video setup.
one configuration i did a few days ago was all messed up but the video was awesome. typing glxgears gave me over 700 fps (not bad intel i830 integrated video with only 32 mb of video ram). now every config i've done since then has been overall better except the video sucks. glxgears only gets about 350 - 400 fps.
what option am i setting incorrectly for such a big change? my /etc/X11/XF86Config file has been the same the whole time. unfortunately i accidentially deleted the config that did the video right so i can't just go find out.
any input would be appreciated.
