compaq presario 800AP

Dear forum,

I've problem on installing red hat 9.0, my usb doesn't work. The problem on ehci-hcd.o module can not loaded on startup.
I don't have any ps2 port for my mouse (unless touchpad mouse)

Maybe there's someone has experience with presario 800AP. I don't care whether using red hat or another linux. Because I want to move from Windows to Linux.

this problem is fixed in the 2.4.22 kernel. It was not redhat specifiic. Any distribution that comes with the 2.4.22 or greater kernel will give you working usb. I'm using fedora and it works...

Yes, switch to Fedora Core 1. Red Hat 9 is now quite old and is outdated -- you should switch to FC1 which is basically "Red Hat Linux 10."

I try to install MDK 9.2 RC2 version, but I still got problem when installing
USB mouse on my notebook

The error is :

insmod'ing module ehci-hcd failed at /usr/bin/perl-install/modules.pm line 408

I don't know why that error occurs. Do I need to put special parameters ?

Hi all,

Finally I can use my USB mouse.

Currently I'm using Fedora Core 1.
MDK 9.2 still got problem. It seems that MDK 9.2 only detect USB-OHCI not EHCI-HCD.
