ok, i just recently installed fedora core 3 on my compaq presario laptop, but when i try to connect to the internet (via dial-up through a modem) it says something about "error number 6".
i am assuming that this is my modem, because when it was probing for modems, it was unable to detect my modem.
compaq doesnt supply drivers for linux, for some reason, and i tryed searching google with no success
my modem is a conexant aclink 56k modem, and i was just wondering if anyone knew of a website that supplys drivers for my modem for fedora core 3?

or something with winmodem, i know there is a lot of information abbout installing winmodems on linux


other posibility is to go to http://tuxmobil.org/compaq.html and look for installation reports... maybe you'll find an answer for you question
