Compaq Ipaq H3630

I would like to be able to synchronize files between my PC (Mandrake 9.2) and my Ipaq H3630. I would also like to know if I can use the internet explorer to surf on the web from the Ipaq. I would also like to retrieve/send email on my Ipaq. I currently use fetchmail to retrieve emails for my various account (ISP) locally in my mbox file.

The Ipaq is linked to the PC via a serial cable.

I have never used PDA before ... so please be very detailed in your answer.
Thanks in advance for your help,

I'm not sure about this so I might just be sending you in the completely wrong direction - pardon my laziness. You could check the Missing Sync program. I think it's a pay to play program (not open source or anything) so you are sort of f**cked if it doesn't work with your pda.

You might also consider installing linux on your PDA. You should check out the Familiar distribution - there are a few others, but this is the one I have been reading the most about.

With Linux installed, you don't have to "sync" your PDA. You can simply share folders and upload/download files from it. Also - most CLI programs will be running on your PDA and it's possible to get a lot of X programs running too! You can even run an apache server with this.

Installing it is really easy - there is a really good document describing how to do it on IBMs site somewhere.

[EDIT]: WOW! I really should start checking dates - hope it helps someone out there.
