Compaq Armada m700 + linux
Hi! I have a Compaq Armada M700 with linux installed on it. Now Ubuntu. I've tried different distrobutions, all see to work fine, but there is a problem. When i play music, independent of with program I use, sometimes the computer just hangs, I can't press anything, nothing works when using the mouse, but, when I press the "ALT"-key the computer starts to work, and after a couple of seconds the computer is ok again. Ofcourse it is good that it unlocks, but its kind of annoying when listening on music, and it suddenly just stops and needs a keypress to start playing again. Any solutions or someone who have experienced something like this?
Tried Mandrake / Mandriva, SuSE 10.0, Slackware 10.2, Mepis and now there is Ubuntu 5.10 Breezy's turn. The only distro I can remember that did not have this prob was slack, so is there a possibility that the kernel 2.6 is the prob, slackware is as far as I know 2.4 with 2.6 as an option!
Would use slackware, but I am a newbie to linux and the package management for ubuntu is so easy!
Today it also locked when just browsing the net!
Thanks for any help!
