Compaq Armada 7800 modem trouble

Hi, guys.
I'm newbie and start to use Linux in my Compaq Armada 7800 laptop but I can't make the modem works.

Specifications:
Compaq Armada 7800 pII 300, RAM: 64MB, HD: 8GB.
Modem: 33,6 Kb/s Data/Fax Modem (Compaq Series Integrated Modem)

I don't find this modem in linmodems.com
Scanmodem don't find this modem.

I installed Vectorlinux based on Slackware.

May you help me?

Try an external hardware modem.

I have the same computer but am using Mepis 3.3 (see post Mepis has a ghost this forum). Luckily I have cable internet so don't require usage of the modem, but the previous poster is correct, get an external modem if that is the only way you have internet access. You can disable the internal modem in the setup if there are any conflicts with the other hardware on your system. I dual boot with windows ME but still don't require the internal modem.
