Communicating with blind acer aspire 4520 laptop from F16

A friend has a acer aspire 4520 laptop on which the screen won't light up. Pluging in another screen doesn't work either, so I presume it is a graphics card problem(?) What do you think.
It would be really cool if I could communicate with this poor blind laptop from my Toshiba laptop running Fedora 16. Has anyone done this? I would really like to learn how to do it.

The acer aspire 4520 has just started up. It runs vista. Protected by password.
Shut down.
Tried again a few times.
Starts. Doesn't start. Intermittent.
Actually. That's not exactly true. It starts, (at least it seems to), but the screen sometimes doesn't light up.

keep it open once it boots up and run torrents and distributed computing project.
