Cool Clevo D470W and Linux

Well, it seems that I've run into a problem with my new Laptop, even with Redhat 8.0 I cannot get it to install.
I'd really like to install Mandrake 9.2 or Redhat 9 but for some reason I cannot get any install to work.
What occurs is a lockup right before the installer even begins.

Any recommendations?
It has the SiS 645DX+ SiS 962 chipset if that helps.

Kind Regards,

I have Clevo D400E and get the same

I have Clevo D400E (badged as "Rock") and get the same problem.

I don't know if the chipset is the same.

I have only tried Mandrake 9.2 but I am going to try Suse 9 soon and I will let you know how I get on.

Please let me know if you made any progress.
