I have a new centrino laptop (2.0GHz pentium M) with a 15" widescreen display. In XP my resolution is 1280X800, however in FC2 linux that option doesn't exist. As such everything on my display is squashed as linux uses a strange (to me) resolution of 1152 X 864 (or something close to that).
I tried changing the xorg.conf file and including a 1280 X 800 option, however, that option is simply ignored. Any ideas on how I can get the proper resolution on my widescreen?

I tried that ... no luck. I generated a modeline from gft and inserted that in my xorg.conf but saw no change. The only thing that I have found that will adjust the way my screen displays is the video driver. I am using the generic vesa driver, though I have a mobility radeon 9600 (M10). None of the radeon drivers that I have tried work better than the generic vesa ... in fact they make my desktop too big to be seen on my screen, and I have to scroll around to see the edges, plus I still can't get the proper resolution and aspect ratio.
