cdrom audio problem

I have a Dell Inspiron 4150 running Debian. When I play audio cd's there's sound only on the right side. I've tried several different player programs, but it's all the same. mp3s, wavs and ogg files works fine though. Does anyone have any suggestions? HW problem maybe?

"HW problem maybe?"

Do you have this problem on both the audio jack on the front of the CD and on the audio wire that runs from the back of the CD to the sound chip?
