Cardreader in notebook


How to make cardreader in notebook work? It's Ricoh (SD/CF/MMC). Notebook is Fujitsu-Siemens P7010.
Distro Mandrake 10.1/Suse 9.2/FC3

When I Insert card in reader nothing happens. I guess, new device may appear in /dev, but what device

Well lets only work with FC3 (this may apply to others). First if it is a multislot cardreader then you will be required to rebuild the kernel. This apply's to most multislot cardreaders, but not all. Requires ' Probe all Luns ' in kernel under scsi section. You should at least be able to see at least one of the slots. If you see all slots the kernel recompile may not be needed.

Before doing do a few things at a terminal. What are the following outputs of the following. Please plug in media cards before trying.
lspci
lsusb
cat /proc/scsi/scsi
fdisk -l

There are servel hundred post here that should help here. Also google around for more help.
