cant load KDE on Veratec AV3270. via s3g unichrome pro IGP card
 

HELP. please. ive been sitting here for hours. and i dont know how to set this up
i have an

Laptop - Averatec AV3270 EH1

Video - via s3g unichrome pro IGP

OS - mandrake 10.1

error - well, bassicly i cant find the graphics card nor the screen

i had no problems in using averatec laptops with linux, it's the case of 3250 series. the only problem i ever had was under fedora wich needs to edit the xorg config file and switch to vesa video driver. if you whant something really easy to use try mandriva limited edition, it worked just fine for me. currently i'm using a debian on it (with a custom kernel and an open source driver for Ralink wireless) but to be onest i still use the vesa driver for video, so i don't have 3d acceleration, wich can be a pain in the butt when watching video.

SO what's wrong with the via driver? All the googling I do on the matter points to it. Yet X freaks.... I use the vesa too, only problem I have is watching dvd's with MPlayer in a small screen...
