Can i install Ubuntu 9.04 on my Toshiba L300 - 1A6 and all hardware working?

Can i install Ubuntu 9.04 on my Toshiba L300 - 1A6 and all hardware working???

I have Toshiba L300 - 1A6 (intel pentium dual T3200 @ 2.00GHz; 4GB RAM, intel GMA 4500M ; Realtek HD audio; Synaptics PS/2 Port Touch Pad; Chicony USB 2.0 Camera; Network adapters: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller, Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b/g USB 2.0 Network Adapter) i have the original Ubuntu 9.04 CD :-D and when i use live cd i get this error on boot time "unsupported PM cap regs version (7)"... and i think that i have problems with my touch pad because sometimes i can't use click on my touch pad, it works when i use click buttons under my touch pad... i have problems with my ADSL internet, i never try wirelles but when i turn it on it finds my neighbour wirelles... If i can install, please tell me if there is some fix for this hardware issues... I don't check my hardware temperature, i find that there is some problems too...

According to this: http://www.handlewithlinux.com/linux...satellite-l300

And this: http://www.linlap.com/wiki/toshiba+satellite+pro+l300

And most of the other pages I found by Googling 'toshiba l300 linux', it seems like you can.

for other l300 models but for 1A6 becouse is new, i find that there is problems with cooler and cpu and others hardware that warm. I like everything to work right. Windows Vista is very fast on my laptop it boots fast, faster than ubuntu, touch pad is working great, and all other hardware

When in doubt, try a live CD or USB Key version. I've been testing several makes and models of laptops using a Ubuntu 9.04 on a bootable USB key. I used the instructions on Pendrive Linux for setting mine up. I highly recommend setting up one of your own for testing.

Hi -

1. As the previous poster's already said, you should be fine with Ubuntu.

2. If there are any doubts (and with computers, there are *always* doubts ;-)), the suggestion about trying a Live CD is an excellent one. Go for it!

3. Finally, the "PM" in the message is "Power Management". It's essentially a non-issue. You can read more details here:

'Hope that helps .. PSM
