Post Can I access? internet with Agere AC'97 Modem, RH 9.0, on IBM A31 Laptop?

I cannot seem to configure the network to allow me to websurf. The message in the Wizard when I query modem is "modem is busy" although the phone line is definitely not being used. I can use same laptop to websurf with windows. Are there any available drivers and, if so, how can I download them if I can't get online at all.

This is a very good website. Thanks for any help you can provide.
