can't use x terminal, screen goes fuzzy (Fedora Core 3 64 bit)


When I try to access an X terminal (ctrl+al1+F1) the screen is fuzzy. Same problem when I shut down, screen goes fuzzy. I am running fedora core 3 86_64 on a compaq presario r3000 with an amd 64. Any help??

This is only on the console screens? Everything looks ok in the X window manager (kde, gnome, whatever)?

If so, sounds like a frambuffer problem. Check the "vga" or "video" statement in your bootloader's config.

What frambuffer driver are you using?

I am guessing based on the limited info you've provided and assuming "fuzzy" doesn't mean your screen needs a shave.
