Hi Kenshin4784,
Check this out: https://www.linuxquestions.org/linux...Ask_a_Question Without all the necessary information about your problem we cannot really help. Anyway, looking at the specs, there might be several problems in the way. Firstly, it is certainly UEFI. So, get into the UEFI firmware settings (aka BIOS), either from within Windows or directly in boot setup. Then disable secure boot. From within Windows disable Fastboot. Then change the boot order in the firmware settings or load up the boot options at start and choose Linux Mint medium. Another possible problem is the graphics card. You might need to install Linux Mint in some compatibility mode first, then boot into and install the Nvidia proprietary driver in order to boot in full GUI. |
Kenshin4784,
Does this still have W10 installed or have you wiped the drive? This tutorial shows how to install Ubuntu 16.04 on an existing Alienware laptop's W10 system: https://medium.com/@RotekSong/tutori...3-91cd1dc7eb3c As mentioned above, we need more specific information about your problem in order to help you. |
