Can't get wireless to work on opensourceSUSE 10.2

Hi.
I'm a complete greenie on Linux, a fairly experienced XP convert.
My linux expertese is only two days of reading the program documentation and these forums.
I have compiled (I guess that's what I did) ndiswrapper and it did not show any obvious signs of error in the proccess.

I have two Linksys network cards which I am trying to connect:
Wireless B WPC11 v4 with Realtek 8180.
I've tried all XP drivers on the Linksys install disk and all that I can find around the web, but when I enter ndiswrapper -i in Terminal it shows:

"Couldn't get manufacturer section. Installation may be incomplete"
When I ran ndiswrapper -l it only shows
"Invalid driver"

I am "uninstalling" the driver before trying a new one by removing the /etc/ndiswrapper directory.

After working many hours trying other things suggested on various forums I tried my wife's PCMCIA card which is a Linksys wireless G WPC54G v3.

OpenSUSE right away detected the card and thought I was scott-free until I went to configure it but got a warning that said it is missing it's firmware.

I also tried to configure the XP driver in ndiswrapper but got the same message:
"Couldn't get manufacturer section. Installation may be incomplete"
When I ran ndiswrapper -l it only shows
"Invalid driver"

At this point I'm not sure if it is a ndiswrapper error or just the Linksys which I understand is problematic.

I really want to kick Microsoft to the curb but don't want to replace my whole wireless setup to do so.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated!
Please keep in mind that I'm quite green.
Thanks in advance
-Steve

from a terminal
lspci the out put of "lspci" will tell which chipset is on boot
to save a text copy of any commands output to the current working dir. Type the command followed by the greater than symbol with a file name. lspci> lspci.txt
Make sure ndiswrapper is running. As Root run modprobe ndiswrapper
My toshiba uses the atheros chipset but it looks like yours may be broadcom. If it's broadcom you'll need fwcutter
For a 30 day trial http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/ If you go with linuxant you'll need to uninstall ndiswrapper first.

I'm georgia also. Glennville Ga
