Boot-grub problem

Hi,
I have laptop and use Ubuntu 14.04 LTS version.

I actually have 2 issues that are probably related but may be not.

issue 1: when lid is closed engine do not suspend; I can suspend it only manually, but after it do not rebooting properly - engine hanging.

issue2: before a ubuntu boot, i will always get:
error: environment block too small. Hit any key to continue
After this, ubuntu launces fine.

I have no idea about your first problem (I don't use Ubuntu), sorry.
