best long battery life laptop for linux

I am looking for a laptop with as long as can be battery life and excellent linux hardware compatability. I will be using gentoo if it matters. thanks in advance!

edit: preferably a 64-bit processor with at least 512 mb of ram.

I can't really recommend any one laptop, but if you don't mind carrying extra weight, most large computer manufacturers sell extra batteries for their laptops. IIRC HP sold one a couple of months back, that promised 16 hours of continuous use. If this is an option, you just have to find a laptop with good linux compatibility and buy an extra battery to it.
