Best distro for Thinkpad A31???

I've been looking for the best distrobution for my Thinkpad A31. I would like to get a distro installed without any problems. I've been doing alot of research on this, and I seem to have found 2 distrobutions that have been used the most, Red Hat and Debian. Red Hat I know has problems running on my system (RH8 anyway, it acted really weird). Debian I don't know, however, Knoppix seems to run without any problems.

I'm going to dualboot my system with (gggggrrrrrr) windows XP (only because I have to).

Firstly, Linux-on-Laptops (IBM Page) has a number of links for loads of IBMs. I found several pages here, here and here.

To be honest, your best bet is to download a few distros and test them out. With installation times of around 45 minutes, you won't waste much of your time.
