Best distro for New World Powerbook G3

I am a newbie that wants to use the Linux OS on my Powerbook G3 Lombard (1999) that has a 400 MHz Power PC processor, 384MB of memory, 6 GB Hard Drive, DVD and 8MB video memory. What would be the best PPC Linux distro for a newbie like me with the Mac laptop just described?

I had a Wallstreet 292MHz (oldworld, but still with the neat wetsuite design like the Lombard ) and I was very happy with both Debian-PowerPC and YellowDog Linux on it. YellowDog is more RedHat-like while Debian is...well...Debian.

Mandrake also has a PowerPC port but I never used it, the same goes for Gentoo.

best distro for Powerbook G3

Thanks for the info. I ordered Gentoo and Mandrake CD's. I'm going to try the Mandrake first, since it's touted as an easy install for a newbie. I'll probably get the Yellow Dog and Debian distros just for the fun of trying them all out on my Powerbook G3.
