Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Cardbus and scanner
I have recently purchased a Belkin USB 2.0 cardbus F5U222 to provide a USB 2.0 port to plug my new Mustek BearPaw 2400 CU Plus scanner into, my elderly Toshiba Tecra 8100 having only a single USB1.1 socket. I have downloaded xsane 0.97, which I am using through The Gimp. The scanner works, but only scans half the page in the scanner, so the output is a picture of a strip 105mm wide by 297mm long. The page size is set to 217 x 300mm in xsane.

What I noticed was that of the three devices described as a USB bus, only one (the card itself?) was shown as a USB 2.0 device, both the others and the scanner, were shown as USB1.1 devices. I'm about as sure as one can be that the Belkin card is supposed to provide two USB 2.0 sockets and that the scanner is also USB 2.0.
Can anyone suggest why the sockets are shown as being USB1.1, not 2.0 and has this anything to do with the scanner problem?
I am running Debian 2.6.11. Googling has turned up suggestions that 2.6.11 doesn't go well with this Belkin card (or vice versa). Is this a known issue, or just a background rumble?
