Battery monitor not showing battery level?

Hi, I recently installed Slackware 9.1 on a Toshiba Satellite A30 104, Intel Celeron 2.6, I right-clicked and added the battery monitor to the panel, but even when the laptop is at full charge the battery reports as 0%?

I have no idea where to even think of going next.

Thanks loads,

Did you pick the bare.acpi kernel during instalation? acpi doesn't even work with my laptop... apm works like a champ tho..... If you did use the acpi kernel, I'm sure there is a way to get it to run.... I just haven't figured it out yet... Until they do away with APM completely, I'm not even going to bother with trying to figure it out..... So, my only suggestion is to recompile your kernel with apm and not acpi... Takes about 5 minutes total..... Not too big of a deal.....

I used the bare.i kernel because I knew no better! I've never used linux on a laptop before, only a desktop, but I didn't think there would be that much of a difference between them.

So you recommend that I recompile with APM not ACPI?

check at tuxmobile.org to see if anyone has any experience with your laptop model.

You can try acpi... If it doesn't work just recompile again, take it out and then use apm....
