battery issue?
Hello guys

I might need to replace the battery of this netbook, however, I have no idea.

happens that I closed the lid of my netbook (asus 1005ha) and it did not went to sleep.... i put it on a hurry inside the bag and of course, as it is on a closed container, it cranked the fan and battery got drained. (happened a couple of time... from time to time I'm always in a hurry)

anyways, out of the sudden, kde battery monitor said something like battery capacity is 4x%, which means battery need to be replaced etc.

i put 4x because sometimes it says 49%, sometimes it says 45...

Netbook was bought on april 2010 and battery still charges but does not last as before.

Please advice.

put up with a shorter battery life or buy a battery. You may even be able to find extra capacity ones for your box. I did on ebay, but I had to wait.

There are 3 major things that can shorten a li-ion battery's life, age, deep discharge and heat. Seems like you have done all 3 to one battery. Of course, overcharge is a really big problem, but there is protection in place for that.

you could always try and rebuild the battery, take it apart and see what batteries are inside it order them online and coonect them up but you will need a soldering iron.
