Backlight turns off, Suspend/Resume fixes but looses USB
Using SuSE9.1 (2.6 kernel) (but had same issue with SuSE8/9.0 2.4)
When laptop has been moved home/work and running for a "few minutes" in its new
environment the backlight on display goes off.
One can just see (faintly) all windows on the screen so X does not seem to
have shut things down, Control-Alt-F1 does not help.
I can still ssh to it and cleanly shut it down/reboot that way.
Once rebooted it will normally work just fine for days.
Suspend (lid close with my ACPI setup) and resume fixes the backlight issue but USB interface
is dead after resume.
This fail mode now occurs on two laptops (Dell Inspiron7000 and Packard Bell EasyNote 3)
I had blamed it on dodgy hardware but that is looking less likely.
