averatec 3120v sound problem with Fedora Core 2

I have installed Fedora core 2 on my Averatec 3120v. Every thing works fine except the sound system. When I run the system-config-soundcard, I get the following messages: "The following audio device was detected. Vendor: Silicon Integrated Systems(Sis), Model: SiS PCI Audio Accelerator, Module, snd-trident.

Then I click on the "play test sound" button, I got error messages "amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such device, sox: Unable to set the sample size to 16-9", and I couldn't hear anything from the computer.

I check the spec for 3120v From Averatec's Web Site, and I found that this laptop has a AC '97 v2.1 Compliant PCI Audio, w/ 3D Audio,Built-in Stereo Speakers, and Built-in Microphone. So it seems the OS didn't dectect the sound card correctly. I tried to run sndconfig from the terminal, but was told no such command. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks a million.
