Audio-Cds won´t play on IBM 600E

Hello community,
I recently managed to get the sound working on my 600E (2645-5A0).
Sound works good but when i am triing to play an audio-cd, nothing comes out of the speakers. Neither kscd nor xmms nor grip work. the songs are being played and no error message appeares. I already tried another cdrom-drive but no better results.
Has anybody had the same experiences or good suggestions?

Thanks,
atzalan
