ATI Rage LT Pro 8mb card and XFree86 -- Laptop

Ok upon further inspection I'd like to try to get my ATI Rage LT Pro chipset to work with Slackware 9 RC-2 and XFree86 Version 4.2.1.1.... Nothing will work with XF86Config or any of the other xfree setups...any ideas on how to get this configured to somewhat use OpenGL?
