darkframe sorry on the long reply I used the ati 7500 and it worked fine. When I installed suse 9 it gave it default driver ati lw and I could not use 3d acceleration or go higher then 16 bit color. In devices under yast I changed the card to the "ati 7500" and it lets me play 3d games and bump up the color to 24 bit I hope this helps you

My X server just hangs the system whenever I load the "dri" module..
It worked fine in RedHat 9, but I like SuSE 9 so much better.
